What you should know about Shuntoshutokai Kobudo Study Group
Shuntoshutokai Kobudo Study Group is a Study group for Classical Japanese Martial Arts (Nihon KOBUDO). You don't have to attend every training day, but you must keep your own practice up.
Training is Saturdays and Sundays each month plus one Sunday per month which is a long workshop (approximately 6 hours). If you already have equipment we will still have to tell you if it is correct for the school of Koryu bujutsu practised within the group. You don't have to be a member of the temple, but periods of zazen are part of participation.
You will have to get various training clothes and weapons, bo, boktoh, iaito or shinken, obi, hanten, Hakama, etc. Some items will be provided free.
The group explores Iaijutsu (fast drawing the sword), Kenjutsu (fencing the Sword), other weapons traditional Jujutsu and strategy. To apply first email us and we'll make a time for an interview. Based at Jizoan Zen Temple in Perth Western Australia. (more).
